1000 Islands Harbor Hotel maintained the excellent level of social distancing and covid protocols. Encouraging room service was a great help, and they even had coffee stations on every floor, constantly being cleaned and maintained to reduce foot traffic though the lobby in the mornings. This was Disney level hospitality planning.
For a social distancing vacation, another important factor to look for in a resort is one with a lot of space for enjoying outdoor dining and drinks. And as we said with room service, a great waterfront view doesn’t hurt. The pergolas, fire pits and large patio (both covered and open air) at 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel allows for tables and seating to be well spaced apart, all with excellent views of the St Lawrence River
I am not even going to pretend that anything other than visiting Boldt Castle was the highlight of this visit. Built at the turn of the last century on one of the 1800 islands, the mansion is often not featured because of the lush trees on the island. What people think of as the castle, was just built to house the power station for the island, housing a generator.
There were many great dining options in the area while staying at the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel.
Bella’s is a short walk away and has great pastries all day and waterfront dining for lunch and dinner.
Saint Lawrence Spirits Château is an excellent place for cocktails and shareable small plates.
Clayton Distillery is making great Moonshine infused spirits and offers adult slushies of every flavor.
Walks along the hotel grounds and adjacent St. Lawrence River walkway were an excellent way to relax, especially in the evenings.
