Finding those local burger institutions is never easy. With Google plastered with ads, word of mouth is always the way to go. Here are six places to start with if you are on a burger pilgrimage.

Owned and run by locals, they were crafting crazy tasty burgers with the best ingredients before it was cool.
Some of their best known burgers are: The GREEN MONSTAH with guac, pic de gallo, cheddar jack, 420 BURGER with mozzarella sticks, fried mac & cheese, onion rings, fries, bacon, golden bbq sauce, American, THE PILGRIM turkey burger, homemade cranberry mayo, stuffing, American… you get the idea!

First, this is not just a burger place, it is a full restaurant with everything from octopus to Curried Goat Soup to Shrimp and Grits.
But the Burger… THE HIGHLAND CHEESEBURGER 8oz. Angus steakburger with caramelized red onions, bacon optional, but I always get it. While the place is always busy, it is worth going to if you are a true burger fan.

Ok, this one you may have heard of because of their challenge burger. But for those of you who don’t know, it is Five pounds of burger, twenty pieces of bacon, twenty pieces of American cheese. It cost $70 and very few have been able to defeat it.
Back Bay Social Club: Boston

Another full restaurant with an amazing burger is Back Bay Social Club. This is a $23 burger and they take it to the enxt level treating it like a steak. Their SOCIAL BURGER features Pat La Frieda grass fed black angus 45 day dry aged ribeye and short rib. Caramelized onion and aged vermont cheddar cheese, grillo’s pickles, and pommes frites.

Full restaurants have great burdgers because everyone is rated by their burgers now! Chef Eustace at Barlow knew this and invested a packed well balanced burger. Please note, FRIED CHEESE PATTY. It basically a homemade burger size mozzarella.
