Having lived in Massachusetts my whole life, friends are always asking where to go for the best views and date nights in Boston. We are lucky to live in such a photogenic city and in the age of Instagram, I feel Boston is finally getting the recognition it so very much deserves.
Here are Seven, in no particular order, that I like to suggest allowing for a wide selection of options.
In reality we could have done seventy! But nobody got time for that!
Two floors with an amazing view of the Boston Public Gardens, I feel Bistro du Midi should get more recognition. Great wine bar for dinner or brunch, and I loved their saffron gnocchi with goat cheese.

This restaurant boasts what has been called the most romantic table in Boston, a table for two overlooking Hanover Street in the North End on their second floor. Italian cuisine with flair, and when you are competing with 100 excellent restaurants in the neighborhood, you have to be great, and Tresca delivers. Oh, and NHL Hall of Famer Ray Bourque is a co-owner.

Just outside of the city in Quincy, but the distance allows for an amazing view of Boston’s skyline and equally impressive sunsets. I always want to try something new when I go, but I always get the Sirloin. And I am never disappoints.

Floor to ceiling windows inside and a beautiful deck outside allow for every table to have an excellent view. The menu covers all bases of seafood, but also features a “Turf and Turf” option of Sirloin and Short Rib combo.

Not much more can be said about Legal Seafood, and many come to Boston just to dine here. Add to that a waterfront view and multiple levels including a roof deck and you have a guaranteed winner every time.

In short, blu is modern, trendy without being pretentious, perfect for date night. The menu offers everything from rack of lamb, duck breast with red lentils and miso salmon, to flatbreads and fish tacos.

I had to include a family friendly option. Sullivan’s at Castle Island is so much more than a hot dog stand with ice cream. You can fill your need for a lobster roll, fried clams and so much more without breaking the bank. An excellent scenic walk located on a 22 acre recreation site, it is also the site of Fort Independence.
