6 Must Try Wines for Summer Made in New England
I have been fortunate to travel to these vineyards, and yes, I have tasted all of the wines I am recommending. While there is nothing like drinking a wine where it is made, the excellent thing about local wines is they are usually widely available. With this in mind, and with the help from my friends in the industry, here are my picks for 6 must try local wines for the Summer.

1620 Winery —  Plymouth, Ma
While I love their Blueberry and Current wines, their Sangiovese is the one you must try if you are an Italian wine lover.

Westport Rivers Winery — Westport, Ma
Farmers Fizz is mostly Chardonnay with a little Riesling for balance. If you had it last year, this one is a bit drier more citrusy. I like to drink it extra cold when it is extra hot out.

Nashoba Valley Winery — Bolton, Ma
Their Azul, a Port style blueberry wine, is my favorite, but it is $50 a bottle! While it is well worth the price, it may not be for everyone so I am suggesting their Cyzer, a apple and honey forward wine that wont be a sugar bomb on your pallet.

Flag Hill Winery — Lee, New Hampshire
This is a hidden gem of a place, full winery and distillery making an abundance of products on site.  Their La Croix wine is one of my favorites and I beleive will be the American response to Riesling.  But for the summer their Sparkling White with a splash of their Cranberry Liquor is a great alternative to sangria when you ant to mix things up.

Hardwick Vineyards — Hardwick, Ma
All wineries are picturesque, and Hardwick Vineyards is no exception. But don’t be fooled, the wines are great too. While many are fruit forward, their Semi Dry Pear Wine is the one you must try. I strongly suggest enjoying this on its own, but if you really want to give your sangria depth, top of the glass with this and your friends will ask for your secret.

Truro Vineyard and Winery — Truro Ma
Summer means Rose’, so I had to include one that everyone has been talking about lately. It doesn’t hurt to have friends in the industry who share their favorites to reinforce your picks.  This rose’ is well liked by all.
