One of the most underestimated food cities in Massachusetts is Waltham. With the anchor of Moody Street, Waltham has been able to set itself apart from all other communities with a diverse offering of classics and new trends. Here are six of our favorites.
#1 White Devil Pizza — Charcoal Guido’s www.charcoalguidos.com
A favorite of Tedy Bruschi, the White Devil pizza combines, hot salami, mozzarella, provolone, shaved parmigiano, and EVOO on a rustic flat bread.
#2 Pancakes — In a Pickle www.in-a-pickle.com
Always changing with the seasons to offer special, In a Pickle has some of the most Instagram worthy dishes we have seen. Most importantly, their constantly rotating specials keeps people coming back for more.
#3 Ceviche – Mi Tierea www.mitierramoody.com
Authentic does not even begin to describe this Guatemalan and Salvadorian restaurant. Family run from the start with everything you would expect including the hard working grandmother in the kitchen. Food so goo you will cry! Tamales are a must get, made with maize dough, pork loin, banana leaf, salsa, cabbage
#4 BBQ – Bison County www.bisoncounty.com
When you take a southerner to a place in Massachusetts and he gives his seal of approval, you know the Q is good!
#5 Poutine – Balani www.balaniwaltham.com
First time visiting Balani Waltham and I can’t wait to go back. Normally I dont care about ambiance, but this place has it! Like a trip through the looking glass, Lewis Carol would be Impressed,
#6 Tapas and Sangria – Solea www.soleatapas.com
Solea Restaurant and Tapas Bar in Waltham has been one of my go to places for Tapas for years. Excellent wine list, seasonal sangria, including flights of sangria, and they keep true to the Spanish small plates style.
Full Tapas tasting menu on the 6th slide, but the stand outs were the Sangrias, the duck and of course the churos.
