Breathtaking Views Everywhere

I always say, when it comes to artists, mother nature is undefeated. I was reminded that everywhere I looked while staying at Waterville Valley Resort.

After a full day of rain, we were rewarded with this beautiful rainbow over the valley. I took over 50 photos and this one was the closest to the real thing.  But as you know, seeing it in person is always best.

Base Camp Condo

When playing in the snow in the Winter, or the sun in the Summer, it is nice to be able to stay in a condo if you are traveling with a group of family or friends. And a multi-level, multi-bathroom, multi-bedroom condo with a kitchen and living room gives everyone enough space, and costs less than 3 separate rooms. The fact is for an active vacation like this, most of your time will be spent outside at all the amenities, so your room needs to just be spacious, comfortable and quiet. I have been visiting Waterville Valley Resort since the 80’s and it has always been exactly that.

Hiking Like No Other

One of the best features when visiting Waterville Valley Resort is the amazing scenic hiking. My personal favorite one has you follow a 2 mile path, over a bridge, then to this small water fall where the stream pools into a small area to swim. AKA Smart’s Brook Path and Swimming Hole. There is even a rope swing. Sadly we didn’t vet to swim, but this is really a huge novelty for hikers who want a special unique experience.

Where to Refuel

The Coyote Grill, Waterville Valley Resort

When the waitress emails you a week before your reservation to check on you, you know the staff is going to be super friendly and attentive. That made the Coyote Grill at the Waterville Valley Resort was a great all around experience. Antelope Meatballs… shocked at how good these were and you must get them if you visit. On top of this, the two chefs in the kitchen are only 20 years old! ANTELOPE MEATBALLS — broken arrow ranch Texas, creamy polenta, tomato demi glace, shaved asiago and parmesan. Rack of lamb and the Venison were perfectly cooks and the grilled carrots were tender and crunchy, we kept saying “How did they do this”? Cocktails were dangerously good as they were all well balanced. When I posted the dessert on Instagram, I had someone randomly message me “That’s the Blizzards!!!’ Our waitress Lynn came through with excellent recommendations for the dinner, as well as a few breakfast spots for the next day. She is why we got the Bruschetta, and it is actually searched warm with whole roasted garlic. Worth getting. They are lucky to have someone that engaging working there.

La Hacienda Mexicana, Waterville Valley Resort

Definitely the prettiest Sangria I ever had, very tasty as well! Possibly the most UNDERRATED food of all time for me, is traditional corn tamales in a corn husk! Also, never sleep on Fried Ice Cream TABLESIDE!!!! La Hacienda Mexicana. Video Here

So many Breweries…

We could have spent the whole time visiting the breweries and brew pubs in the area. Because we had one rainy day, we decided to hit a few and we were not disappointed!

One Love Brewery, 10 Minutes from Waterville Valley Resort

The further north you go… the darker the gravy on the poutine. This one rocked Had it with a Candy Man Dark Saison And the buffalo cauliflower was perfectly spicy One Love Brewery

Woodstock Inn and Brewery, 15 Minutes from Waterville Valley Resort

Woodstock Inn Brewery has excellent beers and the décor is classic ski lodge, but their out door area is really a great beer garden patio. Unfortunately it was raining so we had to say inside, but I can see evenings being relaxing outside with the fire pits. I like Wheat Beers, and that is what I stuck to and was more than happy with their offerings.

Annie’s Overflow Breakfast!

I love little super cute breakfast spots like this. Super friendly staff, quick service, excellent breakfast options. This is a great stop driving up or if you leave in the morning before a drive back. Annie’s Overflow Restaurant About 15 minutes away from Waterville Valley

PLEASE NOTE: I WAS PROVIDED A COMPLIMENTARY STAY BY WATERVILLE VALLEY, HOWEVER, ALL OPINIONS EXPRESSED ARE MY OWN AND ALL OTHER ACTIVITIES WERE DONE AT MY OWN EXPENSE.
