I started our business 20 years ago in Woburn, and it has remained a family-women-immigrant-owned business since. Now located in the Financial District of Boston.
Q1 What is your first or best memory of cooking and who was it with?
As a child I remember “cooking” with my grandma in Puebla, Mexico, and growing up learning to cook with her.
Q2 What is your most popular dish on your menu?
Thankfully, because we cook fresh food daily, everything is popular. We have become well-known for our authentic Mexican burritos, and our unique black salsa, but people will really come from everywhere to eat our Mole Poblano.
Q3 What is your favorite dish to make on your menu?
I enjoy our Friday Specials day because I can cook more elaborate meals that are not in our regular menu, and then I make green enchiladas, chiles rellenos, or dishes we had at our first restaurant in Woburn which was sit-down service. Anytime I can cook some of these more traditional dishes for people to try the real Mexican food I rejoice.
Q4 What do you eat when you are not working/ favorite thing to eat?
We love food! I enjoy a great pasta dish, and we also love authentic Chinese meals, there are few places where we go to eat these. Otherwise we will go to fellow Latin-American restaurants and enjoy pupusas, for example.
Q5 Person you would most like to cook for (Anyone, including a Celebrity or historical figure )?
At this point of my life, I would like to cook for MY grandma and ask for her comments on the food she inspired me to cook. It would be a complete life experience.
Q6 Favorite Vacation spots, not necessarily food related ?
Whenever we can travel I love to try to visit the beach, with a nice wine or margarita I am happy!
Q7 Not your own spot, what is your favorite restaurant?
Oh, this is hard. Right off the top of my head, I would say Jalisco Taqueria because we just got food from there! Besides that I enjoy Delfino’s in Roslindale, and Gourmet Dumpling House downtown. It depends on my mood!
