The Resort that has it all…

Grounds, activities, dining, location… it is hard to not want to stay at the Winnetu Oceanside Resort every time you Visit Martha’s Vineyard.

This Resort is ten minutes from Edgartown, walking distance to the beach, has beautiful Instagram worthy grounds and activities, and an excellent restaurant and bar that people make reservations at even if they are staying elsewhere.

The Grounds

When people say “grounds” usually they just mean a lawn and some bushes. Winnetu Oceanside Resort takes the term to the next level with all they have to offer, and much of it is super family friendly. It also could lend itself to be romantic if you wait for sunset, because any kid visiting is going to be exhausted from all the lawn games, beach and pool fun, and stuffed from the s’mores kits (covering soon) at the fire pits. This leaves the grounds perfect for late night cocktails for the adults. I do expect many “Instagrammers” to find this resort perfect for all the natural selfie spots.

The Rooms and Activities

The older I get the more I appreciate how well thought out the view is from a room. Whoever designs a building has to know where everything is going to go, and orientation, before they even put pen to paper to start the designs.

Being able to see the ocean and grounds while staying at the Winnetu Oceanside Resort when you Visit Martha’s Vineyard is a nice touch.

More than just the pool and the beach, the Winnetu offers lawn games in the front, court yard games in the back, as well as A Full Children’s Program and Family Amenities.

And yes, everyone loves S’mores at night after a long day in the sun.

Dining and Cocktails

Easily the highest view you can get when you have dinner when you Visit Martha’s Vineyard is the deck at The Dunes- Winnetu Oceanside Resort (Martha’s Vineyard) You can be guaranteed the freshest seafood, including oyster from Signature Oyster Farm , seafood boil done in an easy to enjoy (and less messy) bowl, always amazing cocktails and desserts designed to impress.

Full Seasonal Menu can be found at HERE.

And they are not just open for dinner…

Every breakfast feels like Brunch when dining, and nothing beats a roof top deck to see the sun rise over the ocean in the morning.

So much Locally

19 Raw Oyster Bar

19 Raw Oyster Bar is a must do when you Visit Martha’s Vineyard.

The Lobster Taco (burrito but I think there is a story to the naming) was packed with fresh lobster in every square inch. The oyster we choose were from the local Signature Oyster Farm and were sweet and always seem to be the best choice. We also had the crowd pleasing Lobster Bolognese and the twin lobster tails in poaching butter with corn and potatoes. And I LOVED the oyster shooter!

Sit outside if you can as the Edgartown neighborhood is excellent atmosphere.

Behind the Bookstore

Super cute and hidden gem of a restaurant to stop into when you Visit Martha’s Vineyard is Behind the Bookstore which is literally behind the bookstore in Edgartown. The new chef dominates with empanadas, and a MUST GET are the Mofongo Tacos where they make the shell out of a fried plantain! Beautifully shaded out door area makes this a relaxing spot.

The Grey Barn Farm

This is the scene from the Grey Barn Farm outside farm table. BYOB and buy fresh cheeses, breads, accompaniments and pepperoni and sit outside and enjoy a quiet and relaxing area of Martha’s Vineyard. The Grey Barn is a must do when you Visit Martha’s Vineyard !Just 15 minutes away from the Winnetu Oceanside Resort

Alchemy

Rarely do I leave the light and camera at home and just enjoy a restaurant. But MV Alchemy is one of them. Aside from the beautiful two floor restaurant, with porch seating to bot, the dishes will impress. The salmon was perfect and flakey, the gnocchi ere phenomenal and definitely home made but someone who knows. Cocktails are always perfect, and I loved their take o the Old Fashioned which i drank without taking a picture.

Small plates like cheese boards with local The Grey Barn cheese, truffle mushroom toast and tuna tartar could have been a meal with drinks all on their own. Go and take your time.

The Field Gallery

The perfect spot for a picnic when you Visit Martha’s Vineyard is the sculpture garden at The Field Gallery , only 10 minutes drive from Winnetu Resort Marthas Vineyard . In their own words: The Field Gallery on the island of Martha’s Vineyard offers a comfortable, supportive, ever-changing exhibition environment, featuring contemporary art by both emerging and established artists. Founded in 1970, the gallery hosts three spaces with rotating exhibits of paintings, sculpture, photography, jewelry, and more. Outside, the large field is home to the whimsical sculptures of Field Gallery founder Tom Maley and many others.

Mytoi Gardens

The Mytoi Gardens, Chappaquiddick, MA are a great place to meditate or have a quiet walk, but are not as large as they may seem. If you have a beach day and you want to shoot up the Island to break up your day, enjoy some shade and picnic, this may be the place for you. The Gardens are managed by The Trustees so you know they are always ready!

Sweet Bites

Right when you get off the Ferry when you Visit Martha’s Vineyard, you can walk around the corner to Sweet Bites , and while they have great sweets, I love their savory options, including their Empanadas!

Please note: I was provided a complimentary stay by the Winnetu, however, all opinions expressed are my own and all other activities were done at my own expense.
